Everyday face - highlighters
One of the makeup items Christine Scaman at 12 Blueprints recommends in her article on The Best Skin Finish on Winter Colouring for Bright Winter skin is a powder with a slight fine shimmer to use all over.
I have a couple of products I like for this; Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade.
Swatched heavily: Diffused on the left, Lightscapade on the right. I don't apply as heavily as this to my face; I use the MAC 187 duofibre brush for a softer finish.
The Mineralize Skinfinish is £22, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is £38. Diffused was the colour I liked best for my Bright Winter skin; Ethereal (white) was a little too cool (True Winters and Summers might like this one) and Mood Light was more pinkly opalescent than I wanted (all the Summers might like this one). Dim (peachy beige) might be good for Bright Winters too, and it'd be my first suggestion from this range for any Spring.
