NARS Mata Hari blush

I was looking for a blush recently to complement a mauve-toned rosy lipstick, and NARS Mata Hari powder blush turned out to be the perfect solution. It's a cool toned rose with blue/purple undertones, no shimmer and absolutely no warmth/brown tones. 

Compared with Gaiety (left). Gaiety is a similar tone, but lighter.  
Swatched: Gaiety left, Mata Hari right. The difference in depth is more pronounced in the swatch; Gaiety has a very white/pastel base, where Mata Hari is a clearer deposit of pigment.
Mata Hari looks like it could turn feverish, but on my skin it reads as a natural flush. If you find a lot of pink blushes turn muddy or orange on you, Mata Hari (and Gaiety, for that matter) would be worth looking at.

I purchased this from SpaceNK - I do try to buy NARS here for the N.Dulge points, but I've noticed their selection of NARS products seem to be getting smaller in some stores. NARS blush costs £21 in the UK.

  2. One day I might have to purchase Gaiety, every time I see pics of it I think how much I like it, I suspect on me Mata Hari would have that feverish look sadly! I agree with Clara, light permitting, I'd love to see a pic of the lipstick and blusher together!

    This blusher is very nice and my sister is getting it for me for Christmas! Hurrah for sisters! I put my blusher on before breakfast and lipstick after and invariably forget to co-ordinate the two! The shame.

  6. Lovely shade!! I have medium skin,brown hair,brown eyes. Just a tiny tap into the blush is all you need and a nice natural orange golden glow. I own Orgasm blush as well. It gives a nice,sheer pink peach golden shimmer. Good thing about the blushes they can be sheer for day,build up for a night time look. Nars are worth the splurge.
