Dior Addict lipstick Londres 783

A couple of you wondered what the lipstick was that I bought Mata Hari to tone with; it's this one, Dior Addict lipstick in Londres. Karla Sugar describes Londres as 'kidney purple' and that's quite accurate to my eye (although unappetising!) It's a sheer purpled rose with the slightest drop of grey/brown.
On my lips, Londres reads as a slightly mauve but quite natural rosy tone. That's on my lips - I think it'd have a tendency to pull blue/frostbitten on the wrong colouring, so I'd suggest testing at a counter unless you know mauve/blue undertones work for you in lipsticks.
These are the other products I'm wearing with it; NARS duo eyeshadow in Tokyo and NARS Mata Hari blush.
The full face. It's pretty low key, but that's how I like to wear make up most days. The purple hair is PURPLE at the moment; I overspludged the Fudge in the colour v conditioner ratio, but it'll fade down quickly.

  3. So glad you reviewed this. It's one that I've had my eye on for a while and now that I see it on you, I think I need to add it to my collection. Love shadow and blush pairing as well.

    1. I think you'd like it Kate. It's not quite on the usual lipstick beaten track of colour.

  5. That's a really nice colour and I do like the texture of Dior Addicts and the Addict Extremes, they just make the lips look so much smoother.

    1. Oh, I'll have to give the Addict Extremes a look too. They have so many colours, it's easy to get a head spin with them, but it does mean they cover every possible shade you might be looking for!

  7. I would never look at that color not my cup of tea but on your lips it looks amazing. Is that e/s duo Bellissima? (that would be my fave e/s).

    1. Hey M :) It's Tokyo, which is quite similar, maybe a bit more mauve than Bellissima.

  9. It looks very nice paired with the Mata Hari blush. And on your lips as well.

  10. Rather unexpected but pleasant combo this is. I was expecting Mata Hari to be darker but it looks so natural on your skintone! Another surprise was how the Dior Londres changed to a mauve on your lips.

    1. Thank you! I apply with quite a light hand, but Mata Hari gives me a nice natural colour. I like that it doesn't turn muddy/orange.

  12. Hi Grace, really love your reviews. Thank you for bringing all these lovely products to us & giving very clear reviews. I hope you don't mind but I have a question for you unrelated to this post! I am looking for a nice creamy cleanser for my teenage daughter. At the moment she uses Dermalogica teen smart but not too keen on the cleanser. She loves cleanse & polish (LE) but i fear it may not be so good for her to use every day. She also uses the dreaded wipes when she can't be bothered cleansing! I am trying to educate her but I know nothing about what brands are best for teenagers. She has fair skin, quite a few blackheads, some spots but nothing too bad yet. I know she could do with a much better cleansing routine. Any ideas/suggestion. I am keen she starts taking care of her skin from an early age. Many thanks if you can help.

    1. Hi! Is there a particular reason that she wants a cream cleanser? My ten year old has been using Mu London Rose Foaming Facial Wash for just over a year, and that is doing a great job of keeping her skin clean and clear without stripping it.

If she really likes a cream cleanser (or uses it to remove makeup - the Mu is not for use around the eye area!) then I'd recommend Trilogy Cream Cleanser or Pai Cream Cleanser. Both are good, gentle, not too fragranced. I find the Liz Earle C&P a bit too fragranced myself.

  13. Thank you for replying! She has the dermalogica teen clean face wash, it's a foaming wash & she's not too keen on that, & i think she is too young for a balm cleanser. She is 15 & needs something gentle but with a bit of punch to help keep skin clear.I will look in to your suggestions. I have to say thank you also for introducing me to some lovely products. I saw your review on live native msm toner & I bought based on your review & I must say I just love it!! (not sure how much I should be using though as the mist is so fine) It is by far the best non stripping toner I have ever used so thank you. Also purcheased Oskia on your review as well as other products. Apologies for the non related post to your review. :)

    1. I love that toner! I was never completely convinced by toner before that one, and I've repurchased it twice now. I spray it two or three times on the face and neck.

The Mu is a much gentler face wash that pretty much any foaming wash I've ever tried. I hope you find something that works well for her - it's so unfair that we start getting spotty just when appearance starts mattering so much!

Thanks for your comments, and for reading my blog. I am always happy (and pleased) to get comments and questions. :)
