These do give much more intense colour than the original Chubby Sticks, so you do need to be more careful when slapping them on. They have the same comfortable texture though, and are still fragrance free and twist up (no sharpener needed, so no wasting product).
Launching in eight shades; most of them seem to be in the rose/berry/red colour spectrum from the swatches on the press release, although Curviest Caramel looks more neutral.
Plushest Punch is a bright pink. It's not quite blue enough to shade to fuchsia to my eye, it's just the sort of bright, cheery pink I like when I want something more casual than a red lip.
On my lips: I like that these don't have a white base to them, which many lipsticks do (it nearly always looks chalky to my eye when the base ingredients of a lipstick have a white cast).
Swatched with Tom Ford Pure Pink (discontinued) on left, Clinique Plushest Punch on right. This shows the slightly warmer/less blue pink of the Plushest Punch, although it is close and a good substitute if you wanted the Pure Pink but couldn't get it.
Disclosure: PR sample.

Adore this colour and agree that it looks very wearable for a bright lip that isn't too in your face!

Hi - they aren't drying at all, they are very comfortable.
Deletethanks :)
DeleteI love the Chubby Sticks which one is you favourite?? Love Lucy xxx
ReplyDeleteI like Super Strawberry the best out of the original shades, I think :)
DeleteI think I'd want the TF but then I am a makeup snob with a capital "S". Good comparison though.
ReplyDeleteLove you, Jan :)
DeleteThis reminds me a lot of Guerlain Girly, which I thought was a v pretty but fairly dupeable colour until I went looking for one without the space tampon packaging. And now I think it's a white-base thing -- would love to hear more of your thoughts about colour bases or lack of them as it's something my eye doesn't really see as readily.
ReplyDeleteOh, there is definitely a post in that. It's a big problem (well, you know, relatively speaking) for me with pink because so many turn chalky on me because of the white base issue.
DeleteI have never tried any Tom Ford lippies but now I am interested in trying them out. I like the color of Plushest Punch and I will definitely grab one of this after I finish with my Revlon lippie.
