Kjaer Weis Goddess Lip Tint

Goddess Lip Tint is one of the other items I bought from Slowfashionhouse.com with Lovely Cream Blush. In the picture above, Goddess is on the left (on the right is the Passionate Lip Tint I received for my birthday.)

Goddess was a new colour in Autumn 2011, along with Lovely Cream Blush and Divine Eyeshadow (all three pictured below). These three items work very well together and give a cool toned dramatic-natural look on me.
Swatches of Goddess (left) and Passionate (right) - Goddess has no warmth or brown tones, and is a stronger reddish berry than Passionate. It's a much stronger lip on me than Passionate (Passionate warms my natural lip colour and adds a wash of warm red, but doesn't build to a strong lip - if you want a strong warm lip I think Sweetness from Spring/Summer 2012 would be a better choice - Passionate is a soft natural lip).
This is a picture of Goddess applied. I found it very hard to capture the depth of Goddess on my lips in a picture - in real life it builds to a deeper, cool berry/burgundy red, although it can also be applied lightly for a berry tint.
I like the texture of the Kjaer Weis Lip Tints very much - they are semi-matte, semi-sheer tints that also have some conditioning properties. I have found some semi-matte lip products to be quite drying in the past (e.g. Armani Lip Wax) and the Kjaer Weis are not at all.

    1. Hi R - I think you'd maybe like Passionate too - it's natural but not too nude-y. Goddess is gorgeous though.

  3. how delicious! I'd love to try the brand. do you know if the refills are just pans? could I then dump it into a freeform palette? the compact prices are really quite high!

    1. Hi Stephanie - yes, the refills are just pans, and I know a few ladies buy the refills and keep them in a freeform palette. The compacts are gorgeous, but they are heavy and yes, expensive!

    2. thanks Grace! I'm definitely going to pick up a few. wish I could find them in London! that'd be much easier :)

    3. I totally agree - I wish Content would pick the brand up, it'd be a great fit. SpaceNK had them for 5 minutes, but only online and in one or two stores. x

    1. Hi Anon - you're lucky in the US, you can buy from www.kjaerweis.com directly, and from www.spiritbeautylounge.com.

  5. Goddess looks wonderful on you! Isn't it lovely? Some of the KJ lip products (and other items) are so nice. As I've mentioned, Passionate--which you wear so well--is oddly dreadful on me. But Sensuous Plum (I think that's the name?) is another I like. Have you tried it? On me it creates a neutral lip: not nearly as dark/strong as I expected, but quite nice as a goes-with-everything neutral. Anyway, I'm glad you're liking Goddess!

    1. Hey Sam - I really like it, and I have you to thank (blame?!) - I was thinking about buying it after getting Passionate and your comment tipped me over the edge.

I haven't got Sensuous (yet) - although I am planning to get a refill pan of it soon as you suggested. Have you tried any of the eyeshadows? I have and like Divine and Wisdom, I think I'd like a browner one too and can't decided between Earthy Calm and Magnetic...

    2. Happy to "help" with Goddess! As they say, turn about is fair play--I couldn't begin to list the number of (fantastic) products I've bought after reading your wonderful posts!

I have 3 KJ eyeshadows. Like you, I have Wisdom, and it's my favorite. I love that sheen it has. I have Earthly Calm: it's a mid-range warm brown--too light to use as a liner, for my tastes, okay for the crease. It has a very slight sheen (nothing like Wisdom's). It's just okay; I love that its ingredients are so decent, but it's not ideal for me otherwise, a little chalky. I've never seen Magnetic in person, but it does look quite good online. I also have the light color...Cloud Nine, I think it's called? Wisdom is the pick of the bunch for me. But--thanks to your posts--I really like the look of Divine...uh oh! ;)

    1. Hi Sam - they're €38 in the snazzy metal compacts, but you can also buy just as a pan for €19 and keep in a palette like the Trish McEvoy ones.

  7. Hi! Lovely! How does goddess compare to ilia Arabian knights? I'm looking for a dark berry/wine/burgundy shade for fall and its hard to decide with most colours only available online e....btw. Kjaer weis is now available on naturisimo.com (they don't charge postage so that's good news...) Laura

    1. Hi Laura :) Well, I'd say Goddess is more red, Arabian Knights has more plum tones. Arabian Knights is definitely sheerer. I wouldn't call either of them very dark - not compared to something like Tom Ford Black Orchid for example.

I think Goddess is the better out of the two of them for what you're looking for - you might have a look at the full coverage Femme Fatale from Ilia Beauty if you want a more full coverage berry. (I don't have that one...yet!)

Thanks for the info on naturisimo - I hadn't heard of that website before, off to have a browse :)

  8. Thank you! And you are welcome! I find femme fatale also quite light shade wise and more brown/red brick based than dark wine/burgundy... Laura

    1. Oh, shame about the Femme Fatale. I think Goddess is your best bet currently in a clean formula. The other alternative is Bite Beauty - I've just got a red from them that I'm reviewing soon. If you can get to Selfridges London they stock the brand there, and they have a wider range of colours - Barolo might work.

I'd really like a colour like YSL Violet Edition in a clean formula - I think Ilia are coming out with a more purple shade this fall, but from the preview it didn't look very dark.

Rose-Marie Swift has also said she is bringing out a lipstick, but not until next year.

  9. Oh yes I agree a clean version similar to the ysl violet edition or Tom ford black orchid would be great, I'd like that too... Laura :)
