Back in August:
After one month's use. I've seen if I can build up the mascara with a couple of layers here, and it does that, but no more than Lancome Hypnose does for me. I do actually find it a bit clumpy when I try to build it up, contrary to the claims.
It's a nice mascara. My lashes do seem quite well looked after and more flexible, but again, I think I got a similar result with Hypnose Precious Cells. My lashes are okay - they aren't what they were twenty years ago, but they aren't particularly fine or weak yet. Perhaps, like skincare, my lashes just aren't sufficiently dry enough to massively benefit from this product yet.
I won't be repurchasing, and I will quite happily move back to the Lancome.

Hi Hun,
ReplyDeleteFor £60 quid it would have to make my lashes look amazing :-) I still like Stila Major Major lash its cheap, builds well but is a bit of a nightmare to remove
Sam xx
Hi Sam - I'm sort of glad it doesn't - I don't have to agonise over whether to buy again or not :D Thanks for the recommendation. x
DeleteIt's a shame when a pricey product doesn't live up to your hopes/its claims. I'm yet to try a Lancome mascara, I always feel a bit guilty splurging on them for some reason, even though I'm much happier with my lashes when I do x
ReplyDeleteHi Emily - well, on the bright side, this makes the Lancome seem very reasonable :) x
DeleteWell, I don't have to agonize over this product. I follow someone who uses Neualsh which is supposed to grow lashes and the Chantecaille Faux Cils. In U.S. dollars, this is almost $200. I discovered that the oils I use to moisturize my skin have helped stengthen my eyelashes. Thank you for the review.
ReplyDeletefab review and thanks for comparing...I loved Lancome Precious Cells too so I might return to that one
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, totally agree with you, Chantecaille Faux cils not worth the money, I am still using it but like you will not be repurchasing. Over priced and over hyped. Dr Haushka mascara was just as good. Geeta
ReplyDeleteLatisse has some possible side-effects, I know, but I have blue-grey eyes and have been using it for over 9 months, with a 1 month sabbatical while traveling. I'm very happy with the lashes it gave me, and I've had minimal side effects. My eyes looked bloodshot for about a month at first (I pressed on b/c I'd spent good money on it!). That gave way by month 2. My lashes got so much better that I bought another bottle, then another. It may not be for everyone. Just thought I'd mention it.
ReplyDeleteHi Jean,
DeleteThe most common cause for irritation at the site of application is over use of Latisse. If you use a more precise applicator then you will be able to transfer the fluid exactly to the base of the eyelashes without wasting any extra.
Normally just under 3% get this irritation but I have found that this number decreases with a more precise applicator.
Fab review- too bad that it didn't live up to expectations!! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this great review. I've been reading how fabulous this mascara is from the Chantecaille site and one blogger in particular who adores this line. I do like many of the products Chantecaile makes but $70 for a mascara made no sense to me. Finally, I broke down and purchased one over the holidays. I haven't used it as yet but after reading your review, it's going back. I can think of so many other beauty products I'd love to purchase with that $70.
ReplyDeleteThanks much.
