One of the drawbacks of organic hair care is that the options for styling products can be limited. Less Is More's origin as a salon brand sets it apart in this respect; it has as many different styling products as shampoos and conditioners, designed to work across the spectrum of hair textures and desired effects.
Most products designed to enhance curls are quite rich and can be too heavy for fine hair. On its own, the Less Is More Tangerine Curl Balm isn't quite moisturising enough for my medium thickness, wavy hair, but I do like it mixed with the Mascobadogel (to give a bit more hold) on humid days, when Flower Whip (which I reviewed here: Less is More Flower Whip) can feel a little heavy. It's also a good leave in conditioner for Miss London, whose hair is getting a little oilier these days.
This product would be ideal for fine curly hair, and also for shorter haircuts (to about a shoulder length bob, I'd say) who can use it as a combined leave-in conditioner/light styling/heat protector, instead of using a rinse out conditioner and a separate styling product.
Not surprisingly, Tangerine Curl Balm smells of tangerine, which is one of my favourite scents. It is combined with some other light citrus essential oils in the formula to give a fresh and clean scent to the hair.
In the UK, Less is More is available from www.beingcontent.com, and costs £22 for 150ml.

Thank you for this review, Grace! I am thinking of ordering the Less is More Aloe and Mint shampoo (small size, for trying it) from Being Content, as i would like to try this brand.
ReplyDeleteI think this product would be suitable for my fine, wavy hair...even if recently i stopped using styling products and conditioners altogether, as my hair tend to get weight down very easily.
Hi Clara - this sounds like a good fit for your hair. I think they sell a small size of this one too - v helpful to try without committing to the full size.
DeleteIt sounds excellent and I love citrus smells. I'll definitely look it up when I run out of the stuff I currently use.
ReplyDeleteIt smells beautiful - all the Less Is More range smells nice.
DeleteOoo that sounds nice. I have longish (bra-strap-length) fine but wavy-ish hair ... it's hard to find things to give a bit of style and bring out the waves without weighing it down.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask - are you still loving the Rahua finishing treatment? I purchased it recently, and I've been enjoying it so far, but I'm still in the experimental stage.
Hi Proximity - yes I still have a pot of the Rahua, and I still use it and love it. It's very good for days when my hair feels like it needs more moisture/oil. If you have particularly dry ends - the Rahua is best IMO. Less is More is less expensive though.
DeleteHmm, would I be totally insane to spend this much on hair care for a 2 year old? Her curls get so tangled and I've been looking for a leave-in that would help de-tangle without weighing her hair down. I looked at the kids stuff in Boots recently and oh my god the fragrances were gag-worthy!
ReplyDeleteHello you :) I'd spend it - I've always used 'good' haircare on C - I've never liked the smell of the stuff marketed at kids either. You'd only need a small amount each time, so it'd last for months.
DeleteThanks for enabling - and of course it would be rude not to look for something for myself at the same time... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI think you'd like the Ilia Beauty sheer lipsticks - maybe Crimson & Clover. ;)
