It's my turn in the Beauty Spotlight Team to show you what's inside my makeup bag. This is the bag that I carry around in my handbag, and I keep it packed with my basic essentials plus whatever lipstick I'm wearing that day.
I'm not a minimalist. Inside it I have:
Brushes:
Becca cream brush for concealer.
MAC 239 eyeshadow brush. I use this for most eyeshadow application, and particularly for the one-quick-wash-from-lash-to-crease I do most days.
Beaute Smudge brush for dense colour close to lashes, and smudging eyeliner
Bobbi Brown eyeliner brush. I use this interchangeably with the Beaute, mostly I use this one to line under my eyes with eyeshadow for a softer look than using a pencil there.
Shu Uemura brush 17 for blush. I like this brush because it isn't too big, so I don't get clown cheeks, but the pony/squirrel hair combination blends and diffuses a blush application well.
MAC 316 lip brush. This has flat, firm bristles for precise applications. The lid/handle covers the brush when it is chucked in a bag too.
Lanolips 101 ointment
Suvana PawPaw honey balm (no mineral oil)
RealBodyCare shea and rosehip cream. It's a shame, RealBodyCare no longer stock the small travel pots, only the big 100ml pots (although now at a lower price of £10). I use this mostly as an eye cream, but I like to keep this in my bag for any particularly dry bits.
Shu Uemura Mark Cealer concealer for blemishes. This knocks those red annoying spots out totally. I don't use it very often, but I always have it in my bag.
W3LL People Narcissist Foundation/Concealer in #1 - I use this as my everyday concealer around nose and under eyes.
Tom Ford Eyebrow Pencil in Taupe - my newest eyebrow defining discovery. This is really good, and the taupe has no red tones to it. I will be writing a review of this soon.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Delicata blush, Solstice Halcyon eyeshadow and Lola eyeliner. My fall-back shades. If I don't have time to think in the mornings, these are what I apply.
rms Beauty Living Luminizer. Beautiful highlighter, and helps to nourish the skin too. I reapply in the afternoon if my cheeks are feeling dry or I'm looking tired.
rms Beauty Lip2Cheek Illusive. This is a natural plum rose shade, perfect for instant healthy cheeks and lips. Also nourishing and soothing on dry skin.
Ilia Pure Lip Care in Arabian Knights. A berry lip tint/balm.

Oh yes, I love a lot of products from your bag :) The Luminizer, Narcisisst, Ilia Beauty Lipstick and the Lanolips Lipbalm are my favourite products, which I also often carry around in my bag.
ReplyDeleteYou're the reason I have some RMS in my life. I like your choice of what you'd wear for a quick face.
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect to see so much fit in there! I really need to check out RMS. Thanks for the peek!
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed by how much everyone is fitting into their makeup bags! Its funny you should say about that Real Body Care as I was just going to finally buy the trio and was surprised to not be able to find it on their site, the difficulty now is trying to choose the right one to buy :) x
ReplyDeleteI was right, lots of luscious creamy formulas! I was very grateful for the opportunity to swatch the W3LL today. I think I could make myself very happy in your makeup bag. I think that Chante lippie is going to be a great addition.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun post. I just had to comment because I think your makeup bag is so pretty (and I'm impressed you got so much into it!).
ReplyDeletethanks for this post! so many interesting products! i am a big fan of rms, too; i use rms products everyday. where do you buy the suvana paw paw ointment? thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the peek! I share your love for those glorious creamy RMS and RBR neutrals and you make me long to try Ilia too.
ReplyDeleteCan I just ask which shade of the Shu Mark cealer you use?
I'm so glad to see that everyone is stuffing so much into their makeup bags! I mainly use lip products in mine, but now that I've seen yours I'm thinking I could stand to branch out a bit into the land of touch-up products and brushes. What a well-balanced bag!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Thanks all - my bag is a bit like a Tardis :D
ReplyDeleteReplica - it's a bit annoying that they've stopped the smaller sizes. Although they've reduced the price for the 100ml, it's still a huge tin - shan't be slinging that in my bag!
Clara - it's from beingcontent.com - it's very good.
The Driveller Kate - I'm pretty sure I was 7YR light, but the actual shade has worn off. Looking online to see if I could jog my memory, it looks as though this has been discontinued, which is a pain as it's an excellent concealer for blemishes.
Thanks for sharing; I love posts like these!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious -- how do you keep your makeup brushes intact? Do you protect the bristles with anything?
Hello BooBooNinja (I love that picture!) Apart from the blush brush, all the brushes have quite stiff bristles. My bag is long enough to lay the brushes horizontally at the bottom of the bag, and they don't seem to get messed up that way. I'm also quite fastidious about cleaning out the bag every week or so, and checking no pots are leaking etc. I don't find I need to protect the bristles, and I've had that blush brush for about 6 or 7 years now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting back to me :)
