Cult Beauty is launching the US cosmetics brand, Jouer, in the UK this month.
Jouer is literally hours of fun sliding and clicking the pans together, if you're slightly OCD about cosmetics like I am. The pieces lock together to make palettes that you can assemble and dismantle as you please. A US friend took pity on me when the line launched in the US (about 6 or so years ago) and sent me a few pieces from the line. I had and liked the Tint in Amaryllis, a warm but natural red cream colour for lips and cheeks, and the Lip Gloss in Wind, a pinkish nude, as well as a cream eyeshadow that was a little too pale and cool for me to wear comfortably (I think it's been discontinued now, as I can't spot it in the current cream eyeshadows). The colours in the line are all practical and wearable, perfect for putting a kit together for a holiday or an everyday office appropriate or casual look.
As well as the original gloss, cream tint and cream eyeshadow there are now powder eyeshadows and blushes and base products in the palette system, as well as some non-palette pencils, lipsticks and mascara.
It's a lovely brand if you like a natural, polished look, and the palette system is very practical (as well as entertaining for habitual pen clickers like me). I've got Petal Tint (pictured above and Amaretto powder eyeshadow (pictured below) on my wish list.
Jouer is available at www.cultbeauty.co.uk. Images are from Cult Beauty, and from the www.jouercosmetics.com website.

I'm so glad the UK is getting Jouer! I think a lot of people will love it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of this brand in terms of colour and was hoping that Cult Beauty would add some of the eyeshadow and lipsticks online. I don't think I get the clicky packaging though and that is the only thing that has stopped me ordering. I think if I had one product it might look weird on its own sat there with its grooves, but say you had a blusher and then clicked two eyeshadows onto it, it would look strange as you would have two many lids? I really have been thinking about this far to much.... x
ReplyDeleteJouer makes the best tinted moisturizer; I haven't used anything else since I tried it. It does not budge in the hot, muggy weather we're experiencing in DC.
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a great brand! The petal tint looks lovely.

LOL Replica, if you over think, so do I :) The grooves are quite discreet, so they don't look weird on their own.
ReplyDeletehello Ava - thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely look out for that. Is it the slightly shimmering one, or is there a non shimmery version too?
Thanks Kelly and Bowtiedbeauty :)
I can only speak for myself, but Petal comes off as a light bronzer color on me rather than the color in the picture (I'm an NC15). I was surprised when I received it. It's much more peach-toned than I expected. I think it's a lovely color, though, it lasts all day, and it's foolproof. I highly recommend Jouer's tints and tinted moisturizers.
ReplyDeletePlease keep us updated on what you try out. I'd like to know what to put on my own list. : )
Grace, the complete name of the product is "Luminizing Moisture Tint," which it does somehow without visible shimmer in the product or on the face. At least I can't see it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful line.
