I was invited to try the Holiday Hair Rehab treatment at the John Carne Knightsbridge salon last week. My hair had just had two weeks by the Suffolk seaside with a few dips in the sea (Londons are a hardy lot) and lots of windy sea walks, so it was looking a bit untamed.
The Holiday Hair Rehab uses Schwarzkopf Seah Black Pearl products to remoisturise and restore damaged hair. The treatment consists of shampoo, followed by a hair mask to restore (with an excellent head massage) followed by conditioner to seal the hair cuticle. The treatment took place in a separate room with subdued lighting and the most comfortable chair/basin set up I've ever known (I may or may not have fallen asleep during the head massage).
I also had my hair cut by Sean. I'm the reverse hairdresser's nightmare to Mrs Hirons. I'm the opposite of a control freak; I give rubbish instructions like, 'I just want it a lot shorter' (with a vague gesture to a point just below my ears), or, 'I don't like my hair to look too done'.
Sean asked a few questions about how I style my hair (I don't) and how I like to wear it, and managed to translate my very imprecise direction into a cut that I absolutely love. The first picture is after having it cut and blow dried at the salon (excuse the knackered face), and the second is after washing and leaving to air dry with a little Rahua Finishing Treatment worked into the ends.
I'd thoroughly recommend the salon, which is in Montpelier Street (opposite Harrods) and has an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The website is at www.johncarne.co.uk/knightsbridge-salon.
John Carne Knightsbridge is offering Londonmakeupgirl.com readers the chance to win a complimentary Holiday Hair Treatment. You just need to like the John Carne Facebook Page, and leave a comment on the John Carne wall (before 12 September) saying that you came from Londonmakeupgirl and would like to try a Holiday Hair Rehab in order to enter the draw. Good luck!
Disclosure: I was a guest of the salon, and treatment and cut were provided without charge. Links, as always, are not affiliate links.

What did you make of the Schwarzkopf Seah Black Pearl products? Any good? x
ReplyDeleteHello you! I liked them - they smell lovely and left my hair feeling like silk. Best for damaged hair though - fine hair in reasonable condition wold find it heavy for routine use, I think.
ReplyDeleteWow, that frames your face so beautifully. I had to chuckle at your "rubbish instructions". I do the exact same thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cut. It really suits you.
ReplyDeleteI love your shorter, so chic on you!
ReplyDeleteLove the haircut! I wish I still lived in London, then I would just pop by for a haircut easily!
ReplyDeleteYou're looking absolutely gorgeous! :) xx
ReplyDeleteGrace, you are a sexy, sexy woman. That last pic made me "meow" at my screen and do scratchy motions with my hand =) xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous!! I'm in the rubbish instructions camp too. I never know what I want, I'm just like...."make it look NICE [because I usually wait 6 months between haircuts and walk in looking like a scraggly monster], PLEASSSEEEEE!"
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a great thing, I'm going on holiday soon and might be just the thing for when I return!
xo

LOVE LOVE LOVE the new 'do Grace! Very Keira K. It helps that you have those divine cheekbones & facial structure. [I'm a chubby-cheeks type so v envious ...]
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for the "rubbish instructions" camp - my hair is now really long but low maintenance b/c I hate "product", can't style, & don't like going to the hairdresser. Yet I adore make up. Beauty Fail.
Cute but sophisticated - great balance :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also rubbish with the instructions, and I always make them leave it long enough for me to get it into a pony-tail since that's my default "I don't know what to do with my hair" fallback. Someday I have to go into a salon and say "cut it so I *can't* put it in a ponytail and will be forced to style it and make it look nice!"
I love love love your new 'do!
ReplyDeleteVery flattering my dear! I love it. I also love the lilac highlights!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Trish
Love the cut on you, looks great! I badly need a haircut, so this give me some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYou look really beautiful on both photos x
