If, however, you suffer from dry eyelids, this could be the eye primer for you. I have dry and sensitive skin around my eyes, and I find this soothes and adds moisture, at the same time as providing a good base for powder eyeshadows.
Ingredients:
I bought the 'Light' shade (#1) which is the lightest of the three shades available. It's not extremely light - it matches my NC20 skin.
Swatch blended in.
The shade smooths out my eyelid, and can be worn alone for a fresh, no-makeup look as it doesn't look powdery or too matte on its own. It's also a good base for eyeshadows - it doesn't hold them for as long as something like Urban Decay Primer Potion would, but I notice I have less creasing at my crease at the end of the day when I use this.

Thank you for this review!!!! I buy a LOT of By Terry products and I might have accidentally picked this up. I say accidentally because I have extremely oily eyelids, I crease right through UDPP and swear by Laura Mercier. So thank you! You saved me money and a potentially incorrect product for my eyelids!

Thanks for this- I wondered how it measured up. I used UDPP and it suits me well at the moment. x
ReplyDeleteHi Sara and Computergirl - yes, I'd say this is more for people for whom UDPP etc is too drying. If you have oily eyelids, this would just make creasing worse IMO. It's excellent for dry eyelids though.
ReplyDeleteooh! I have oldie skin and UDPP is too drying. Will look for it at SpaceNK.
ReplyDeleteI bought this back in June and it is a MIRACLE product for me. I tried the Laura Mercier one and it didn't work out. This however, is refreshing and cooling, and takes out the redness perfectly. Sometimes I just use it with no other shadow, sometimes alone (with mascara). It's a product I've come to rely on. (I am 43 and have normal eyelids which can get a tiny bit oily at times.)
ReplyDeleteI saw the new By Terry hyaluronic primer on Space NKs site and wondered about it. Do you know it? I currently use Chantecaille's tinted moisturiser and wondered how this might compare?
Hi Jamilla - it's well worth a look then.
ReplyDeleteHello Jo! I hope you're well. I find other eye primers can make my lids feel uncomfortably tight and dry, and this never does that. I have seen the new By Terry Face primer on SpaceNK.co.uk, and I mean to have a look at it in the store next time I'm by one. Have you sniffed Jo Malone's new Bluebell yet? That's another thing on my 'have a look at' list.
I wouldn't normally steer myself towards By Terry products but with some SpaceNK points I really wanted a good eye primer for my dry and prone to creasing eyes. This is now my HG. I have a review on this too!
ReplyDeleteOh, this sounds perfect for my mom. I'll have to tip off my dad, since it's a bit outside my budget.
ReplyDeleteI find UDPP a bit too drying for my eyelids, but the NARS primer is about right - that's the one I'd suggest to anyone else with neither oily nor dry lids, in case anyone's looking for suggestions. Though I think I've heard about the Paula Dorf one (on the non-blonde? maybe?) being really good.
Thanks for the heads up, straight to the point as always, so i didnt get right into it only to be put off at the end x
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Kei Kei - I agree with your review totally - it's lovely for dry skin, and I like the non-dragging feeling of it too. Thank you for your comment :)
ReplyDeleteHi Proximity - I have meant to try the NARS, that's good to know, thank you!
Hey Imo - that's me, no beating around the bush :D
I like the idea of this, I feel as if I need something with a bit more ooomph thantoucheradianteclat. I find that my eyes are really dry even though the rest of my face is oily/combo. Slightly wonder about the scent, I find all the BT products to be infused with a sweetish rose which is not my favourite. I will check out though. Thanks Grace. Jan x
ReplyDeleteI think it this came in a shade lighter I would be all over it, as I do find a lot of primers uncomfortable. Do you know anything about the fall collection from By Terry? I know they have the new liners but haven't read about any other new colour items coming out? x
