I have always admired
Phyrra's lovely necklaces from Whimsy Beading, and when I spotted this pendant in support of Alzheimer's fund raising, inspired by the Discworld novel Night Watch, I took it as a sign to make my first purchase. (Night Watch is the best Discworld novel that doesn't feature Granny Weatherwax in my opinion. That's high praise.)

ReplyDeleteI adore the Discworld novels! Sam Vimes & Granny are my heroes . . . Reading your entry was such a collision of worlds - beauty & Discworld? I love the pendant & the cause, might have to track this down. But re the lilac - dont forget, "you had to be there . . ." [Sir TP signed my copy of NW with that several years ago - its one of my most treasured possessions. Oh & I am having the White Horse tattoed on my upper bicep for my 42nd birthday next week. Hey its never too late & you're a long time dead - I'm sure Nanny Ogg would approve anyway! Have you read I Shall Wear Midnight yet?]

Hi Jules - I envy you that signed book! I have read I Shall Wear Midnight, and loved it. I'm glad at how things worked out for Tiffany, I have a very soft spot for her. I think Nanny Ogg would approve of most anything, so she doesn't rule much out! Good for you on the tattoo though ;)
