Mercurios double banner ring

I've wanted one of these two finger banner rings from Mercurios on Etsy for a while. I love the design and the fact that you can have it stamped with any phrase that'll fit (although I wouldn't go for 'die, boss, die' for the office*).

I went for 'and this too shall pass' in Latin, because everything seems a bit cooler in Latin and it's one of my favourite sayings - it reminds me not to be too self-satisfied when things are good, and also that tougher times don't last forever.

I bought the aluminium version - it's tough but lightweight, and I'm wearing it to type now without it restricting my movements more than slightly (and tolerably).
The Mercurios shop is on Etsy here and they have some lovely stuff, all very reasonably priced.

*I wouldn't go for that anyway, I like my boss. We talk football.

  1. I love it and funnily enough, This Too Shall Pass is my mantra, I say it under my breath several times a day!

  2. LOVE the phrase you've chose and the ring is amazing! Agree that everything is "cooler" in Latin, I've studied it for 3 years and I loved it :)

  3. I love it, that's so cool! I like the phrase that you chose too. I've been looking at large statement rings today on ASOS but this is much more interesting than any I've spotted.

  4. Wow, I love this ring! Love the phrase too. I'm so tempted to buy this, but I don't think I'm cool enough to wear it. Does't really fit with my prim persona ;)

  7. Awesome ring! And yay for Etsy, which is an amazing place! I'm always happy to see anyone spreading the Etsy love.
(I am actually an Etsy seller, and I think it's also good advertising for all of us, and encourages people to support small businesses and actual artisans instead of large companies!)

  9. Looks super cool. I've always wanted one of those twin-rings. Pity I can't wear it, as it's not flexible enough to play the piano. :(

  11. Hi Anna - I agree, all her designs are awesome. I have my eye on an evil eye necklace now (if you'll please excuse the pun!)

Hello Proximity - I love Etsy for just that very reason - cool things made by individuals, rather than a faceless company. I'd love a link to your shop, if you wouldn't mind.

Hey Imo - I blame my Dad, Ipswich Town fan, and he infected me at a very young age :)

Hi Dempss - I bet you could rock it ;)

Thanks to all for your comments. x

  12. Hey,
I'm happy to share a link to my shop, it's a bit off-beat, since it's a mixture of 3d art, fiber-crafts and jewelry.

    Here it is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/monocotoleydon

I'm really interested in learning metalworking, but I decided I should hold off until I'm living somewhere that I'd have space for the equipment!

Thanks for taking a look :)
