I received my pre-ordered No More Waity Katie nail polish today, and promptly removed the Illamasqua Bacterium nail polish in order to apply the Butter London.
No More Waity Katie is a sheer mauve/grey base with lilac glitter. The base shade is very sheer (and not beige at all to my eye, it's definitely mauve); the picture above is with three coats, and this is what it looked like after I'd applied one coat:
To be completely fair, it probably doesn't help that I'm comparing it to the Illasmaqua manicure applied by someone who knows what they are doing when this polish had the ignominy of being applied by me.
Still, it is a fun shade and I'm glad I bought it, even if I do suspect it will be a pain to remove. When Butter London describes it as being packed with glitter, they aren't kidding.
What do you think? I like the cheekiness of it, and the fact that it's so un-royally blingy. I bought mine from zuneta, but I think it might be sold out already.

It's sooo much better then the promo!
ReplyDeleteI think this would look amazing over a lilac... I'm definitely going to get it, but I probably wouldn't wear it on it's own x
I have no idea why but I wasn't expecting it to be sheer. I think I was expecting it to be a bit like All Hail McQueen. It does look pretty with the three coats on. Is it awful to say I'm disappointed after how gorgeous Bacterium looked on your nails? I do like the idea of it though. Beats a commemorative mug any day ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Karleigh - I might try it over Barry M Dusky Mauve, I think that would work well.
ReplyDeleteHey MB - I didn't expect the base to be so sheer either - I expect it's something to do with holding the glitter in suspension. It is buildable - Lipstick Luvvies got good coverage in two coats, but I think she's more careful than me. I'm definitely getting Bacterium!
I would have to agree with Jane, it's pretty but I am slightly disappointed as I thought it would be more beige with lilac sparkle. It does look lovely on you though.
ReplyDeleteI hope I get mine soon! My order is 'processing' so hopefully that means it'll ship soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually quite pleased it turned out to be more purple than originally thought. I think I'd get more wear out it it than if it had a beige base. Mind you, purple is one of my favourite colours, makeup and otherwise.
It sold out before it was even released! LOL this is a lovely shade. Looks similar to Models Own Just Jules polish.
