I've never worn yellow on my nails, so I decided to see if I could like a slightly more subdued, buttery yellow with the appropriately named Butter from American Apparel. This picture is with two coats applied and is still a bit streaky on some nails although tolerably so for me; for absolute smooth coverage three coats would be needed.
I like the colour, which is somewhere between Lurpak and Anchor. Moving away from the dairy products, I'd call it a creamy pale primrose. I'm not sure I like it on my nails though - it looks a bit tippex-like.
So, will you be wearing yellow nail polish this summer?

I think the colour does look nice on you and I like your dairy descriptions! I am weary of the Tippex look in pale, creme shades (I like it to look a bit more ceramic) and I agree a little that this does verge a bit into that territory. I am not sure about Mimosa till I see it but I will be digging out my MAC Phospor polish which is an electrifying shade of yellow which was sadly a limited edition from Neo Sci-fi.

Um, I don't think it looks good in real life... a bit too Tippex... though the thought of butter made me hungry. :)

ReplyDeleteNo, I really can't do yellow. Not least because it looks generally repulsive but also because the colour always seems to reflect in my cuticles and reminds me of being a 20-a-day smoker.
