Butter London No More Waity Katie available to pre-order at Zuneta

My favourite royals are Prince Philip and Princess Anne respectively, and I'm not really very fussed about this upcoming royal wedding (you may have heard about it on the news once or twice. Oh, and in Hello and OK constantly. At least it makes a change from Peter Andre).

What I am a bit excited about is the rather cheeky Butter London nail polish, named 'No more Waity Katie'. A nude beige with lavender sparkles, I've pre-ordered mine from Zuneta already. The wait list for pre-order opened today, and I'd place a bet that it sells out before the dispatch date of 01 March.

  1. I've just read the Zuneta email in my inbox, showed it to hubby and he thought the name is hillarious. :) Here in Australia ALL the TV channels cancelled their usual programs and run the interview with Will & Kate the WHOLE evening on the day the news was out!!! I almost puked of boredom...

Thanks for dropping by my blog & leaving a note. Very sweet of you. I was so fed up with the 24-7 morning sickness, I told hubby this is the ONLY child he's gonna have. LOL.

  2. This is entirely off-topic, but did you know that Le Metier de Beauté is closing down in the UK? (Apparently, they need to reserve stocks for the USA so are withdrawing from the UK). The counter in Selfridges is only going to be open for another 14 days so if you want any of their stuff, go and get it now. They're out of stock of coloured mascara, peau vierge and kaleidoscopes, but they still have some other stock.

  3. Hi mq, cb - no, I had no idea! I knew they'd closed the Liberty counter, and they didn't get the last couple of kaleidoscope kits over here either.

That's an odd reason - surely you'd just make more if you need more stock? I wonder if the profit margin is now insufficient in the UK as a result of our currency losing strength against the dollar.

    Thanks for the information.

  4. Hey Music - nice to see you back, here and on your blog. Yes, I am meh about the royal wedding too. Won't be buying a commemorative tea towel ;)

  5. What a shame about Le Metier. I heard they were having distribution problems but didn't know it was so bad. I hope they come back to the UK soon. And I agree with you 100% on the wedding. I'm planning on being out of the country on the day. The nail polish though is very tempting..

  6. The LmdB staff in Selfridges put it down to distribution problems. The manufacturer can't make enough to keep up with demand, particularly as they are now in so many stores in the US. So they have chosen to prioritise the US distribution, but this has meant that the UK doesn't get enough stock, or the newer stuff at all, and now they can't make their floor rent in Selfridges. The shortages that you noticed has meant that people buy more when they find items in stock which in turn creates more demand and exacerbates the problem from a consumer perspective.

Anyway, I have a work trip planned to San Francisco for May so I will be able to visit Neiman Marcus and look for Peau Vierge there.

Still, it's all a bit disappointing. I suppose that retrenching and focusing on the US market makes short-term sense, but it doesn't say a lot for LMdB's business model that they have such fundamental problems with supply.

  7. Hi Karen - I'm planning to be at a karate course on the day, so no banner waving here either. I do like the look of the polish though!

Hi Mq, Cb - nothing annoys me more than a counter having lots of stock-outs. It's terribly frustrating from a consumer point of view, especially if you've made a special visit. I must admit to some scepticism about Peau Vierge - not sure I'd want a retinol treatment in a daytime TM, but I know Nina (Inthesweetshop) loves hers.
