The promotional picture for the Becca Fallen Angel collection is, as always, totally stunning. Even if I'm not hugely keen on nude lips, I love the smoky eye, made a little softer in shades of mushroom and smoke rather than greys and black.
I'm a bit disappointed in the pricing of this collection though. Instead of the usual 5 pan palette, there are two 3 pan palettes. The Fallen Angel palette for cheeks and lips has a peachy highlight, a tawny peach lip & cheek cream, and a sheer peach gloss.
The Enigma palette for eyes has three eyeshadows, 2 demi-matte in a beige/fawn and smoke, and a shimmer eyeshadow in a mushroom/mauve.
The Fallen Angel palette is £35 and the Enigma palette is £48. That's £83 for 6 pans of colour, compared to £55 for the usual 5 pan palettes. The Becca online shop doesn't give the weight of the Engima palette pans, but it does for the Fallen Angel palette and these are 1.3g each, compared to 1.5g each of the lipgloss and lip & cheek cream in my Showgirl palette. It's hard to judge online pictures, but I don't think the Engima pans are bigger than the standard single 1g, which is also the size of the eyeshadow/compact eyeliner pans in my Showgirl palette.
Edit to add: following a comment from Replica below, I've just gone back to the Becca website to double check the price, and it is now shown as £35. I know I'm not going crazy (at least not on this point) because Marina at MakeUp4All has the price for Enigma listed as £48 on her earlier post about the collection here. It looks like it was an error on the Becca website.
I won't be buying from this collection. Although I do like the look of Enigma, I think it is overpriced compared to other Becca eyeshadows and palettes. Edit to add: It doesn't look so badly priced now, although I will still probably pass.
Images are from www.beccacosmetics.com.

I plan to get the value sets, I was very happy to see the Beach tint trio.
ReplyDeleteThese palettes look gorgeous but I agree that they are a bit overpriced but BECCA was never cheap :(
hmmm it is expensive but i love the look of the fallen angel palette, definitely my colours

The promo photo is beautiful, I want to be that girl on the left, ha!
ReplyDeleteBut I agree that the palettes seem quite small (and honestly another sheer peachy lipgloss in a compact - I don't need that!).
But, I have noticed that they have a 5-pan palette Avalon out with this collection, although I think this palette was released before, and I do really like the look of it. And the Line+Define Pencil in Santorini looks interesting too.
The Enigma palette caught my eye too, although I have seen it for £35 on other sites, wonder if thats an error and I should get it quick! x
ReplyDeleteHi Replica - hopefully the error is on Becca's website! £35 would be a lot more reasonable. It's still £70 for the two rather than £55 for one 5 pan, but it would be better.
ReplyDeleteYour not crazy as I checked their site this morning and it was listed as £48 so they might have read your post and changed it, see the power you have ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL, Replica! I am sure it was a mistake on the website, on Adore it's listed as the same price as the Fallen Angel one too.
ReplyDeleteIf I was that influential, you can bet I'd be writing a post on how Tom Ford should really be marrying me. I think Mr London is safe though ;)
I have never tried anything Becca, can you believe that? And I'm particularly tempted by the lips/cheek palette in this collection.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Becca before. Love the picture...makeup and hair are both amazing. Love the cheek palette...now to find Becca in Canada! :)
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI work for BECCA and it was a mistake on the website, the Enigma Palette is only £35 (it is 48 Euro)...
We changed the error so quickly, shows how quickly you blogged!!
The collection is oh so beautiful, our best holiday collection by far. The texture of the eyeshadows in the Enigma Palette is even better - silky smooth rich pigments. I'm in love with the Belize Pencil - definitely my new favourite for a quick sultry eye!

Hi Anon - thanks for clearing that up, easy mistake to make. I thought £48 was a bit steep ;)
ReplyDeleteThe collection does look lovely, I am quite interested in the pencil myself.
I agree that the promotional photo is stunning. The image and colours are very tempting. I looked at Marina's post and I was sure I would want something up until the point I saw the three pans in the palette. It seems a little disappointing. I really look forward to post and swatches to see if I can be swayed!

Awww, every time I see a Becca promotion I think: "I just wanna look like the girl, no need for any make-up then!!" ha ha. But the minute after I calmed down I REALLY want the products (especially beach tints and palletes are my thing...) They are rarely on my shopping list, though, as I hate not being able to test products before purchasing. My pocket smiles, my heart surrenders, lol. Sam xxx
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh, but is it for the man or the free lipsticks and fragrance he would bestow on you ?
ReplyDeleteWebsite error or not, I'd rather believe that you have some magical makeup power if its all the same :)
Hello Replica :D A bit of both, really!!
ReplyDeleteHi MB, I will at least check it out at the Becca counter in London now, I think.
Hi Sam - the Becca girls are always so beautiful. It's a shame it's not a more accessible brand, it does have some excellent products.
Thanks for this post Grace. I emailed Becca to check if they are doing a 20% off promotion online (they have in past) and they said they were not :-(
ReplyDeleteIf they do a promotion on Zuneta I'll get it, but otherwise its just too expensive and I'll skip it. Good products but too expensive. Becca- do you know about the Credit Crunch blol?
