What sort of posts would you like to see more of on this blog?

I haven't been buying as much make-up recently (the summer collections don't tend to appeal to me as much as other seasons, so I'm just writing about some of my basics in my fallow shopping period). It seems like a good time to ask people who read this blog what sort of posts they'd like to see more of. For example:

I've recently been buying charm jewellery - would you be interested in posts on that sort of thing?

Are the 'meh' reviews helpful to you? It's easier to write about the things I love (or really don't) but as a consumer myself I find neutral/negative reviews very helpful too.

Are there any particular brands you'd like to read about here? I am always interested in finding out about new brands, so I'd love to hear from you if you think there's a brand I'd like that I haven't already featured.

Thank you in advance for any input.

  1. I'm obsessed with jewelry at the mo so would be interested to read those types of posts - I've actually been thinking about doing a jewelry post too and other non-beauty ones such as sale purchases etc. jewelry is definitely my 'thing' after beauty, followed closely be clothes! (how shallow i am!)
yes meh posts are useful, i usually only write about things i love but i do have a few things in my collection i'm less than enamoured with and plan to try and review those too.

  2. I'd love to read about the charm jewellery, I love small pendants and charms bracelets and the like :) Would be awesome to see what you've picked up.

I like meh reviews, especially if it's about a product that every other beauty blogger is raving about. It's always good to read the criticisms as well as people gushing. Although the meh ones are harder to write :s

  3. I would not mind posts that are not strictly beauty related. It would be nice to see more well being type posts, like beauty from within. You mentioned previously that you do fight training and exercise etc so maybe something along those lines.

I do like accessories (2nd favourite thing after cosmetics) so would be happy to see jewellery related posts.
Also I think it is good to go back to showing essential/basic beauty items that are not necessarily the latest hot item, as sometimes it is easy to forget there are some great items that have been on the market for a while.

  4. Hi ya
I would love to see FOTDs or EOTDs...how you wear your makeup, not necessarily new products but just what you use daily, or felt like using at a particular time.

Accessory, fashion or daily life blogs wld be lovely too - just whatever is on yourmind.

I would love to hear your thoughts on Becca and Bare Escentuals - only because they are 2 brands I am interested in!

  6. I always enjoy reading blogs where the blogger feels free to post whatever most excites them on that day. It may be make up, jewelry, fashion, travel or cooking.

On the other hand, I really love your posts and reviews on the world of beauty.

  7. I love your posts as they are, but I particularly liked your videos and I hope there will be more of them.

I am ususally curious about brands that I cannot test myself, like rococo nail polishes or Ellis Faas... or to discover hidden gems in those upscale/mainstream brands I tend to overlook...you made me look at Guerlain lipsticks through a different angle.

Oh, and perfume. That is my obsession, much much more than make-up actually, so I loved your posts on Ormonde Jayne! I Hope to read more about british perfume brands!

  8. Hi, Grace. Personally, I like all sorts of posts - and would be deffinitely interested in reading about many different topics, not just restricted to makeup & skincare.
I understan that the "meh" reviews would probably look something like: "it's a nice color, the pigmentation is ok, but nothing special". I would like to read these kind of reviews to, but maybe you could do like "mehs of the week/month" and post about more products that aren't really all that special, instead of just one.

Have a lovely day (it's raining here, so staying in and watching football will be the order of the day) XX

  9. Hi Grace,

What I like about your blog (and look for in any blog) is an interesting point of view on different things. Therefore, whatever you choose to write about, I would be interested in reading...and I do agree with the commenter who mentioned videos; I very much enjoyed all of them.
From makeup to jewellery, to general commentary, to pets and home, feel free...
    have a great evening!

  10. I really like your posts Grace, I like your pared down elegance - something I can never do! I always like to hear about the products which didn't work as well as those that did, how do you manage to keep makeup in the heat (I know I struggle), what sorts of products do you buy again and again, or carry around in with you. Keep it up

  11. Grace,
Please show your jewelry! I understand the thing about not buying much makeup in the summer, I am the same... that reminded me that outside we are at 90 (32 C) degrees!!!!!
I will enjoy anything you want to talk about in your blog.

  12. I love reviews myself, it helps me whether it's good bad or indifferent. I also like to be introduced to new things. Like I found out about the Unii palette and I love the thing. I think we all like to be introduced to new things, even if they weren't new to you (maybe raid your favorites). Especially since I'm in the U.S. I wanna see things that are cool in your hood.

  13. I like the 'meh' reviews as much as the glowing ones. Shows me what to avoid! I think the charms sounds really interesting too x

  14. Your blog honey, so you must write whatever is on your mind, that's the best way! Having said that I'd love to see more videos too and I'd like to hear more of what you think of Dr Hauschka, L'Occitane, t.leClerc and Shiseido products as they are ones I'm either passionate about already or just discovering.

  15. I'd love to see more videos. I also really like it when you've shown looks using several items from one line. I value your opinion whether an item is good or bad so I find all your reviews useful.

I'd very interested in more skincare thoughts too.

  17. I agree with the anonymous commenter above that it's also nice to see posts about products that have been around for a while too, in addition to the latest releases.
