Urban Decay is not a brand I'm usually very interested in, but I will be having a look at these new Urban Defense spf 20 tinted moisturisers.
Years ago, Urban Decay did a very good spf 15 moisturiser called Guardian Angel which was perfect for slightly oily summer skin and I was sad to see it discontinued. It will be interesting to see how these compare. It's also a plus for me that they are paraben free. They're £27 for 50ml, which feels slightly expensive for Urban Decay for me, particularly compared to £18 for the Surreal Skin cream to powder foundation (50ml is quite a generous amount of product though).
EDIT to add: I've just received an email to confirm that the price on the original press release was in error: these are £17, not £27. That's much more the pricing I'd expect!

Urban Decay is a company that doesn't seem to generate a lot of "buzz" on the beauty blogs but it is a very popular line in Sephora. Their marketing thrust is more "edgy" rather than the more sophisticated brands but I really think their products are good. For one thing they are cruelty free and some products are even vegan. I don't think any company can top their 24/7 pencils, they glide on like silk. I bought their Alice in Wonderland palette from Sephora and it didn't even hit the shelves!! The sales assistant brought it out from the stock room for me and they were gone in a day. I recently purchased the Summer of Love palette. Their brushes are also very good and cruelty free.
ReplyDeleteI do really like Urban Decay products (I love their primer) but I agree, this seems really expensive for them. For extra couple of quid I think I'd rather get the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser!
ReplyDeleteI actually like UD products--they are high quality, and they do the job!
ReplyDeleteI generally like UD products (not all of them though) but what i really like is their packaging. But this looks hideous! D:
ReplyDeleteHi Anna - I need to try those eyeliners.
ReplyDeleteHi Ms Wedgie - the price in the original press release surprised me too! Luckily it was a mistake - £17 is a lot more what I'd expect.
Hi Jamilla - I should really give UD a go - some of the names of the shades put me off more than anything.
LOL Lillian. The packaging is a bit...well, urban and purple, but if the TM is as good as Guardian Angel was, I'll happily hide the tube :D
