I decided to do something a bit different on Wednesday and went for a smoky eye using Rouge Bunny Rouge. I applied Electrifying Storm Petrel (charcoal grey) on the lid and Volcano Fairy Wren (black with silver glimmers) on the outer v, and underneath my lower lashline. I used Solstice Halcyon (taupe satin) to blend through my crease, and used MAC Blacktrack fluidline to line my upper lashline. I'm not good at complicated eye looks, but it didn't turn out too badly, and the eyeshadows apply and blend very well, even in my inexpert hands.
I'm also wearing Irreverence lipstick and Vermeer cream blush. Irreverence is lighter on me than I expected from the online description; on me it reads as a creamy nudeish pink. I'm not at all comfortable in this kind of colour, although I know they are popular, but I don't think that creamy nude lips suit my pale olive skintone very well. I think I'd prefer the overall look with a sheer natural rosy lip colour.
Mr London looked perplexed for a bit when I asked him what he thought, before finally remarking, "I think it's more of an evening look." I think he's right; I'm much more comfy in brighter lips and simpler eye make-up. It's nice to dip a toe outside of my comfort zone every now and then, although it confirms that nude lips aren't for me!

It's very sophisticated and pretty on you, oh gorgeous one!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mag. I wish I was even half as good as you at eyeshadow!
ReplyDeleteI really like this look on you! And today I had a dream about RBR probably it means that I need to get a lot of makeup from them :)
ReplyDeleteI love the eyes, but I'm with you on the nude lips. Overall I think that simpler eye looks enhance the ethereal quality of your face and, somehow, give you an air of mystery...if that makes any sense??? Perhaps it's rather early in the morning for me to be this lyrical..lol

It looks lovely on you x
ReplyDeleteI like this smoky look!
ReplyDeletei actually think the lip looks fabulous on you! it's very similar to the becca lip tint in estella which i'm loving at the mo. overall i think this is a lovely look x
ReplyDeleteI think this is very pretty, I love how you have done the eyes - the Solstice Halyon layered with the other colours is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteEven though I like your other colour looks, this looks suits you as well. I would have to disagree with you about the lippie - I like it!

The eyes and lips are beautiful, but I wonder if there's something different on your skin. What is it you're wearing? It looks SO perfect! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty on you! I am your complete opposite makeup-wise; I feel so much more comfortable to wear dark eye makeup during the day than bright lip.. so this is definitely a daytime look for me :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Rouge Bunny Rouge packaging? It's so whimsy.
I love this look, You look amazing!
ReplyDeleteOMG this look is AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteI love your lipstick!
ReplyDeleteThe lips look great on you. You just aren't used to it. But you know my address if you hate it. LOL
ReplyDeleteReally - the look is beautiful and I adore their names.
you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really like the whole look on you, I think you pull off the nude lip look well, so there :p
ReplyDeleteYou look amazingly beautiful!! I think this is one of the best looks that I've seen on you. I really LOVE the nude lippie on you! I hope you end up feeling comfortable wearing this look as it really really does suit you, trust us. :)

That lipstick looks lovely on you, as does the smokey eye. If you feel like going outside your comfort zone again soon, this look would be a great one to repeat!

I think this combo looks great, especially the lippie!
ReplyDeleteI love this, really soft but still subtly smoky.
ReplyDeleteYou 're SUPER hot with this look, love your smokey EOTD/EOTN posts!!!

Your eyes are beautiful! I've been looking at all of your RBR stuff, iy;s such beautiful make up.
ReplyDeleteI am looking to buy some RBR make up and was considering Irreverence lipstick. Some of the swatches I have seen appear very similar to Modesty by MAC. To prevent me buying a dupe could you tell me is it more pink or brown in colour?
Many thanks
