I wish they'd bring back.... Vincent Longo

Pictured: Baby Love Glimmer eyeshadow, Midnight/Smoke Duo eye pencil, Morning Tender Water Canvas blush and Fleur de Flirt Lipstain lipstick.

I have used and liked Vincent Longo products for many years; I first bought Baby Love on the recommendation of Kevyn Aucoin in his Allure column, and this is my second of this particular eyeshadow (the first one I used until I hit pan and the remnants crumbled into nothingness). Vincent Longo used to be available in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, but sadly pulled out of the UK a few years ago; these products were sent to me by US friends. Some of the line is available on www.Strawberrynet.com, and bits and pieces do come up on Ebay.

There were murmurings that SpaceNK was going to bring the line back to the UK, but that hasn't happened yet, although it is now stocked in SpaceNK in the US. I'd love to see this line available here again; his products are beautiful and flattering, and the texture of the Water Canvas blush, a solid gel that sets on the skin like a stain, is very good for summer, especially. The Vincent Longo lipsticks are one of the few that I can wear comfortably on my dry lips, and Fleur de Flirt is a nice natural rose shade.

Swatches of the Midnight/Smoke eyeliner and Baby Love eyeshadow in different lights:

Picture of Baby Love applied, with Midnight on my upper lashline and Smoke on my lower lashline. This eyeshadow gives a soft glowy look to the eyelid on me; it's not quite beige, taupe or gold, just very pretty and flattering.

The website for the brand is at www.VincentLongo.com. It doesn't hurt that the man himself is not too hard on the eye; he looks a bit like Richard Gere.

  1. I agree, it's a very nice line. I remember Sephora used to stock it (back when they were still in the UK...I used to spend a fair amount of time in their outlet in Islington).
The eye shadow is just beautiful...
    Have a great weekend!

  2. Ah I was wondering whether you can get longo in the UK... A friend sent me some concealers recently and they're quite brilliant.

  3. Yes, another great brand we cannot access any longer... Carnelian Whisper & Dakota Red lipsticks are amongst my top ten reds!

  6. Love the look on you! I also love his lipsticks. I wish he reformulated the shadows (though they're not bad + he has a great sense of color combinations!). I also wish he made the Day/Play duo blushes (my favorite colors) to make them just a bit less emollient. I've always loved Vincent Longo. He rocks.

  7. I adore Vincent Longo products! His were amongst my first "high end" purchases when I started really getting into makeup! Back then I used to get it from Mecca Cosmetica in Sydney. I don't think they stock it anymore either. Did you know that Vincent is an Aussie??? He is!!! Yay!!! :)

  8. Vincent longo foundation is the only foundation I have found which I can wear without it affecting my skin. I love all his products and am constantly hunting for them! You can order then direct from the states by mail order if you call this US number 646 530 . The only problem is you have to know what you are ordering and you don't get to try the products. Lets hope they decide to stock the range in the UK again!
