I've tried to recreate the look from the promotional picture for the collection. As far as I can tell, there is no eyeliner or mascara used, just a halo of the Limoncello eyeshadow. I used Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy as a base, which really helped to get the colour to show up, but Limoncello is definitely on the sheer side. The promo pic for the Spring collection shows it as a very vivid chartreuse, and there's just no way I could get it to be that colour unless I layered it over a similar coloured cream product.
I'm really not sure about the lipstick from the collection on me at all. Poupee is a baby pink shade, pretty, and the texture of the lipstick is lovely, but I think it's a little too pink and too pastel for me.

Yep, not an easy one Grace! Personally, I think the eye looks indeed somewhat unfinished, mostly because of the colour (which is lovely, but seems to me to be crying out for something more). However, the photo is too much of a close-up so I can't really tell what it looks like in relation to the rest of the face.
ReplyDeleteThe same IMO goes for the lips. On a close-up the colour looks very nice, but I'd like to see the whole face - although, generally speaking I prefer brights on you...(yeah, I know what opinions are like and that everyone's a critic lol)

I think it looks better with black liner and mascara too. No full face shot of this one because, honestly, I thought I looked a bit sickly with this eye look ;)

ReplyDeleteI could never wear that color since my skin tone is too close to that eyeshadow. I would look like I ate too much vindaloo. :-|
LOL Olivia. It just doesn't work for me on its own, or with the lip colour from the collection. I'm still tempted by Sugarpill Absinthe though.
