Ormonde Jayne Discovery Set

I've reviewed both Ormonde Woman and Orris Noir previously, so I was pleased to be offered the opportunity to try the Ormonde Jayne Discovery Set. This set contains eleven 2ml spray vials; one of each of eight scents for women and three scents for men.

The Set comes beautifully presented in a black and gold box with gold lettering. When you pull the tab on the right, both sides slide out to reveal the fragrances on the right hand side and a booklet describing the overall tone and individual notes of each scent on the left, like a tasting guide.

Mr London and I will be testing out the fragrances and I'll be posting our thoughts on them as we work our way through the different scents (although I may have to torture him to get more than, 'Yes, it smells really nice.') If there's one you are particularly interested in, please leave a comment to let me know and I'll do those first.

The Discovery Set costs £35, and shipping on it is complimentary worldwide. The Ormonde Jayne website, www.OrmondeJayne.com, is one of the best shopping websites, particularly for perfume, in my opinion. A new feature that is worth having a look at are the brief video reviews of each fragrance by Linda Pilkington, the woman and 'nose' behind the House.

  4. That set is wonderful! I got mine as a gift for my birthday and it's really so much fun to play with all the scents. I wish all perfume houses would introduce sample packs so you could try all the perfumes
My favorites right now are Ta'if, Ormonde Woman and Champaca.
I know you love the first to as well, so would love to hear how you feel about Ms Pilkington's "lighter" creations. Have fun!

  6. Love to hear your impressions on each and every one. I just checked out the videos too - she's lovely and I just loved her descriptions too. I didn't know she had a new one Tiare - if you got a sample of that, I would LOVE to know your impressions of this as well. I think Linda Pilkington has a brilliant nose and her fragrances are so unique.

  7. Hi Camilla and Sarita - unfortunately, it doesn't include Tiare. I'm going to try to get to the shop to get a spritz of it and maybe do a first impressions post on it.

Hello Dempss - it is beautifully presented, so nice to see a sampler kit done well.

Hi Signature Scent - it's a lovely way to try out a good selection of OJ. If you haven't tried any yet, you're in for a treat, it's one of my favourite fragrance houses.

Hello Klara and Glamoured - Champaca is up, and I'm surprised how much I like it! Looking forward to trying Tolu, it's my sort of scent.

  8. Have just done all my Christmas shopping online at ormondejayne.com using their 10% thanksgiving offer - so feeling very happy. Haven't been to their shop yet, but have heard they now have one in Sloane Square too. Just realised this thread is quite old!
