Ellis Faas Milky Lips L207 applied
I received my order from www.misebeauty.com today, and I bought two Ellis Faas products in it. This is the Milky Lips L207 applied, which is the pinkest natural shade in the Milky or Creamy lips in my opinion. There is still a fair bit of brown/peach to it, but for someone looking for a natural pinkish tone, this is your best bet.
Swatches, from left to right: Milky Eyes E208 (a coral/brown pink, not nearly as pink as it looks online. Bottom is swatched heavily, fading out at the top.) Milky Lips L207 in the centre, and then the Milky Lips L205 I bought in my first Ellis Faas order on the right, which is a lighter and slightly brighter peachy nude shade.

Hi Grace you probably know already (as I've told you a million times!) that you made me want to try Ellis Faas. I'm planning on trying the milky lips but i just wanted to ask you how smoothing they are, I have very lined lips even though i'm only in my mid twenties so I have to avoid anything that exacerbates this.xx
ReplyDeleteWow. they sure don't look like much on the hands when swatched, but they look awesome on your lips!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, really natural. Does it last long?
ReplyDeleteHi Shoobe - I'm really sorry to say this, I wouldn't recommend them if you have very dry or lined lips. I have to work quite hard with these not to get dry lips (because I do love the finish) and use a good balm underneath them, but my lips are insanely dry; I can't wear MAC or Bobbi Brown lipsticks, for example. There are better products for very dry lips; I'd go for Suqqu, Chantecaille or the Sue Devitt gloss instead.
ReplyDeleteHi Musicalhouses - they are very dull in swatches! The colours do look lovely on the face though.
Hello Beauty Edit - it lasts as long as a normal lipstick, like Chanel Hydrabase. I'd say I get at least 3 hours before I need to reapply, and they fade to a nice stain.
Thank you all for your comments. :)
How is it that even though I know the shades are "mostly" warm, and I know that I prefer cool tones, I still want so much of this line? LOL
ReplyDeleteLemming starter!
Hey Kat - see it in person first, because I know you like clearer tones. Go over to BritishBeautyBlogger and look at Dolce & Gabbana spring - now those are your colours!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I love the 207 on you. Funny or maybe not , considering our mutual tastes, that we both ordered the same lip colors. I also like that eye shade.
ReplyDeleteAAAAAArgh!! You certainly know your shades - I've just been over to BBB and Dolce&Gabbana Spring is right up my street colour wise. Same goes for YSL although their packaging is rather shockingly golden... sadly Ellis Faas is just too murky for me as it stands but you're offering good alternatives, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI just got this color today and it is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your honesty Grace. I found out that Beaute is now sold in the UK through your blog so I'm gonna try one of the sets from the range, I'm also lusting after a lipchic after seeing it on you but the price is a bit eeek! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Shoobe - I think one of the Beaute would be a better choice; I find those more comfy on the lips. The Lip Chics are eek! pricewise.
ReplyDeleteHey Ammie - knew you'd like it! :)
Hi Joolz - D & G spring looks lovely. Suqqu Spring is worth a look for you too, I think - some nice clearer shades in that line up too, and I think the Spring face color powder would be fabulous for pale olive skin.
Just purchased mine (L205) in a whim a while back and loved it even with the hefty price tag. loved the texture, smooth yet non-sticky finish. I'm looking for something similar to this texture (non-sticky) and colour type lipglaze, can anyone recommend me something similar?
ReplyDeleteHi VnnA - I'd recommend Hourglass Prodigy gloss in Eden, which is a non-sticky gloss in a natural beige/caramel colour. I'm posting a face of the day using it soon.
