Suqqu Marotsuya FOTD products

This is a Suqqu face, using mostly products from the Autumn 2009 collection (the theme of this collection was the spectrum of light seen on the polished surface of a bronze statue.) All of these were limited edition and they sold out quickly.

These are the base/contour products:

Left: Polish Face Colour EX01 Omowa, and right: Powdery Cheeks EX05 Shitsugen from the Spring 2007 Gaia collection. I use this blush for a contouring shade, rather than to add a traditional blush colour. It works well on my pale skin as it has no orange tones. Omowa is used to give a glow/subtle sheen to the face.

The eye products:

Left: Blend Eyeshadow EX03 Koudou, right: Dual Contour Shadow EX01 Kokucha. The contour shadow is used to highlight under the outer corner of the eye, and to shade at the inner corner of the eye between the nose and eyebrow.

The lip products:

Left: Dual Gloss Colour EX01 Kinsa, right: Lip Colour Pencil EX01 Amecha. The Lip Colour Pencil is used all over the lip to add colour, and then I used a blend of the two glosses on top of it to give shine.

The finished look:

  1. What a soft and elegant look, Suqqu is the best in creating these kind of looks! I'm so upset I didn't manage to check it out in Selfridges, though my wallet has thanked me many times! Hope you're all doing ok, xx

Hi Anna - thank you, we're sad, but okay, I think. Suqqu is a danger to the wallet!

Hello Musicalhouses - it's in Selfridges, in the little beauty bit at the back opposite the chocolate. The counter staff are lovely.

Hi Sindylicious - thank you :)

Hi Mizzworthy - thanks. Did you dip your toe into Suqqu in the end? It's a lovely line.

  6. Grace, the look is subtle, refined, and elegant. I'm just fascinated by the sophistication of Japanese cosmetics - they're not widely available here in the US, except for Shiseido, and even beauty mavens (beauty boffins for you) don't know much about these lines. Please tell us more in future posts!

Hi Anonymous #2 - thank you :) It makes me happy that you like the look. I enjoy the same things about the Japanese lines, and I can promise more posts in future - I'm really looking forward to Suqqu Spring. x
