Addiction by Ayako Stardust applied

This is a FOTD with Addiction Stardust eyeshadow. Stardust is absolutely beautiful, but like many sparkly shades (e.g. the NARS Night series) you do have to work a bit with it to get the sparkles to stick/show up. Without a base, you'll just get a basic black shadow.  In this shot, I'm wearing it patted over By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Black Pearl, which is a deep charcoal cream eyeshadow with some sparkle in it. This is expensive (£26) but it's my favourite base for a smoky eye; eyeshadows blend over it like butter. I'm very tempted by the Rock shade for my taupes and browns. With a sparkly eyeshadow it does help to make the sparkles stick if you apply it by patting it onto the lid, rather than using a wiping motion.

My lips are naked apart from lipbalm in this shot - this is how anaemic my lips are. I slapped on some Nubo Voile on my skin (to use it up, more than anything) and I think it does make a bit of a difference. I'm also wearing Crush blush from Addiction.

Here's a shot applied over a basic black cream base (Supracolor by Kryolan) so that you can see the sparkles that come from the Stardust alone. It works quite well, but I do prefer it over the By Terry.

  3. Thats a great combo Grace ! I had another look at the site you ordered your stuff from and got exicited when I saw Suqqu on there as well, but seems to work out about £60 for a palette ? Maybe I'll stick to ordering some addition, will probably do it next month.

  4. Hi Em - thank you. I do like a smoky eye!

Hi Lina - the pictures can't capture all the lovely sparkliness. If you can, you should have a look at the Ombre Blackstars - they are a stunning base. There are a couple of lovely neutral shades.

Hi Replica - thank you! Yes, oddly Suqqu is cheaper here than in Japan at the moment because of currency movements (and there is the profit margin/shipping added on buying it from Japan.) The quads are £38 here, and Selfridges will ship, although I think it's quite expensive (about £5ish?)

  8. Gorgeous sparkly smokey look!
I 'm loving sparkly shadows atm!!!
And great choice leaving everything else natural (I was about to ask what lisptick you had on - your lips aren't really that pale btw), you let the eyes do all the talking! :)

  9. Hi Olivia - oh thank you. It's honestly even nicer in real life, hard to pick up the sparkles on camera.

Hi Tackyblueeyeshadow - thank you :)

Hello Amina - thanks so much. I love the By Terry especially, it is quite expensive, but it makes a smoky eye so easy.

Hi Tina - hooray for the sparkles! I think they're cheery in horrid weather. I do like to keep the rest of the face simple with a statement eye - thank you for your kind comments.
