Dolce & Gabbana Stromboli eye pencil

This is a creamy black pencil with fine gold sparkles in it. There are a few products with the shade name Stromboli in the line (this pencil, an eyeshadow duo, an eyeshadow quad and a nail polish.) This could be confusing, but they are all a similar shade; black with gold shimmer/sparkle, and the eyeshadow compacts both have a black/gold colour theme. I'm quite tempted by the Stromboli quad because it reminds me of a Chanel quad from the early 1990s (which I can't remember the name of); it has black, rust, gold and bronze shadows.

The Dolce & Gabbana pencil isn't quite as creamy as the Sisley Phyto-Khol Star pencil I wrote about here, but then it costs a lot less at £16. The gold sparkle effect is quite subtle, but pretty, particularly in evening lighting.

  1. This sure doesn't look like the stromboli I had last week. You know the one with mozzarella, cappa, pepperoni, tomato, and basil. But, it is a very pretty pencil!

  2. I have this and it was a disappointment unfortunately! Not nearly as soft and pigmented as I'd hoped for the price and fades during the day, I problem I don't have with mot liners. As much as it pains me to say this, the "Glitter" shades in the Sephora Nano line are much better quality-wise. It's just too bad the don't feel as chic and say Dolce & Gabbana on them! :)

  3. Hi SB - this does fade during the day, but I found I got a much richer colour with mine after I sharpened it - maybe give that a go if you haven't already. x
