Dolce & Gabbana Caramel blush and Naked lipstick

Caramel is a recent addition to the Dolce & Gabbana blush line up (it was released with the Holiday 2009 collection) and it's a lovely colour. I found the other colours in the blush line up either too warm/peachy (the nudes) or too bright (the pink/roses) for what I was looking for to go with the other items I already own from the line, but Caramel is just right; a neutral beige brown with slight pinkish undertones. It's a perfect blush to wear with a red lip.

Naked is a Shine lipstick; it's a shimmering peachy nude shade, and although the Shine formula is sheerer than the Classic it still gives very good coverage. I'll be posting a picture of this on my lips soon.

Both of these items were Christmas presents. Dolce & Gabbana makeup is currently available exclusively at Selfridges in the UK.

  7. Hi Tali - I think it's great for paler skin, I can see how a warmer skintone might like something with a touch more warmth in it.

Hi Deborah - it's still quite hard to get hold of, but I'm liking it more and more. Swatches are up now. x

Hey SB - yes, it's one of those colours that looks really different on different people.

Hi Helen - I will be keeping him, boy did good :D

Hey Mizzworthy - yes, it's a great one for pale skin.

Hello Ammie - these are definitely your colours. You'd do damage with this line, for sure. Some of it reminds me a bit of the Amber collection Tom Ford did with EL.

Hi Olivia - I love Caramel, that's one that always gets me!

  10. Hi Grace,
I was thinking of getting the nude blush, but thought I should check your posts as I remebered you had got one, do you think the Caramel one goes on less warm that the nude one if you remember? On the beautylookbook it seems the caramel one is darker and more peachy but it looks really nice and natural on you in your FOTD ? I've been buying a few duds of late so I am trying to be clever and do my research first :)

  11. Hi Replica - I definitely felt that the Caramel was more neutral than the Nude one, which looked more peach/orange based to me. Honestly, Caramel may be a touch dark for you though, as you are paler than me. I don't think the D&G line caters for paler skins in the foundation or blushes.

I'll probably be in Selfridges soon and can try to take some pictures/do some swatches, but I don't think you'll find a pale enough neutral shade in the line up.

  12. Although, I do think Caramel is the best neutral shade for fair/cool skins. (pressed post too quickly!!)

  13. Thanks Grace, I did wonder if the shades might be too much for me, I suppose if I did get one I could use a skunk brush to get a sheerer application, do you rate the blushers or are they only so-so ?
I was going to ask if your getting anything from the Becca Bombora collection, I feel quite tempted by it.
