Nubar Impulsive Silver

I was aware of Nubar as a US brand of nail polish that I believed was unavailable in the UK apart from on evilbay.

I was therefore quite pleased to read on Beauty and the Dirt that it is available in the UK, and even more pleased to be offered the chance to try one out by the brand PR. This is Impulsive Silver from the Twilight collection (Twilight really is the cash cow word of the beauty world at the moment. Call any collection/item Twilight, and guaranteed a horde of women will be unable to resist the subliminal call.) This is a very metallic platinum/silver, which I think looks okay even on the fishbellies (my pale, slightly blue-toned hands.)

The picture is of two coats; it applied easily, dried fast, and is lasting really well so far (now on day three with no chipping and minimal tip shrinkage.) The design of the bottle, the brush and the handle make application easy, even for someone as cack-handed as I am with nail polish.

Nubar polishes are £8 each, free of the big 3 (no toluene, formaldehyde or phthalate) and available from Beautyshed.co.uk. I'm thinking of buying Peacock Feathers, an indigo with emerald and violet flashes, and if I do I'll report back on if it is as pretty as it sounds and looks online.

Please note: this item was provided to me without charge, for consideration for review. I receive no remuneration if you click on the links in this post, or any other.

  1. A lovely silver. Edward would be proud.

Read the back. READ THE BACK!
Did you get a "Resluts" bottle??

Oh and I reviewed Peacock Feathers a while back - it's lovely. Purple Beach is better though.

I love Nubar - typos and all!

  7. Hi Cushycottage and Blair - I have been really impressed by this polish, sometimes the 3 free ones can be a bit more fragile, but this has stood up to a good bashing by me. Thanks for your comments. x

Hi Tina_mbc - I think so too, thank you :) Sometimes silver can be dodgy on my skintone, but this one works well. x
