Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball in Goodbye

I finally got my hands on a Butterfly Ball lipstick (I swear I was so obsessed I dreamt about these, which is a bit of theme for me with Lipstick Queen!) This is one sheerish coat of the shade Goodbye, a sheer deep wine. Does it brighten my teeth? I don't think it does in any noticeable way, but the turquoise shimmer gives pretty dimension to the shade without being frosty shimmer. As you can see, on my lips the shimmer is very subtle; also it isn't gritty and you can't feel it on your lips. I'd say the Butterfly Ball has a similar level of pigment to Medieval, and feels similarly comfortable on the lips; it's going to make a great option for me when I want similar softness to the Medieval but with a different shade and a little extra oomph. The deep wine shade makes me look a little bit consumptive, but in a good way; this lipstick has a pretty slightly gothic-twilighty feel to it.

I got this in a swap with a US friend; it should be out here in SpaceNK soon.

  1. I love that colour, it's a perfect bitten lip or "I've just eaten a punnet of blackberries" shade, lovely indeed. I also like the fact that Lipstick Queen has a different tube colour for each lipstick line! I have only one Lipstick Queen lippie (Saint Coral) but you're absolutely right, these butterfly ball ones are kind of obsessive! xx

  3. Wow, that colour is amazing. I agree with Anna, it gives you a just bitten look. The colour in the tube, though, is what fascinates me most. That turqoise glitter is awesome!

  4. Oh WOW! That is pretty! Especially that shimmer which contrasts with the lipstick yet becomes one with it. I am truly intrigued!

  5. Hi Anna - it is *exactly* the colour of lips after eating blackberries. I love the packaging; I love the different colours of the tubes, and the cards that come with each one.

Hey Replica - it is a very nice line. I do quite often pick up lemmings from you too ;) The lipgloss sets are a good way to try a few of the 15 minutes.

Hi Marce - I love looking at it in the tube, it's mesmerising.

Hey Olivia - Poppy King has a great eye for lip colours. I've liked so many of her new products, I am so glad she's doing well.
