Kat Von D Lipsticks

And this is reason #23,258 that Sephora should come back to these shores; the Kat Von D line. I was sent these three lipsticks (which came in one set) by a US friend. I love Kat Von D; she's totally glamorous without a hint of that helpless girlie thing. She's also an immensely talented artist; I have a hard time deciding if she or Garver are my favourites on Miami Ink/L.A. Ink, but as she also does lipsticks....sorry, Chris; it's got to be Kat.

The colours are (left to right) Homegirl, Hellbent and Lolita. All three are the kind of colours I love; a dark plum, a blood red and a natural warm rose. As well as looking cool in my makeup bag, the lipsticks themselves are creamy, non-shimmery, perfection.

Is it bad that these have made me want to get another tattoo?

  2. Haha I love your rationalisation. She's does lippy and pips him at the post :)

  3. Fabulous. I have also developed a Kat Von D lemming and keep very nearly spending large amounts on one of her eyeshadow palettes on Ebay. Maybe after Christmas, what with the Zuneta order, Poshbrats order, Bath & Unwind order ...

My Christmas shopping style never changes - 'one for you, three for me' etc :-P

  4. I think the colours look great against your skintone...I don't think it would go with my warm complexion though.

I usually hit the Sephoras in Dubai...I know what you mean! There's even one near our house in Muscat, but it's always 6 months behind!

  5. Doesnt he look exactly like a blad Bon Jovi? Me and my sister discuss this all the time (especially after a few!) he is by FAR my fave :)

Love the Kat D line but i struggle to find a shade that will hit my spot. I think im just to yellow for a few of the shades!!

  6. I love Kat D's make up. I have a couple of her eyeshadow palettes and her bright red lippy (the name escapes me). Great stuff, so want it over here.

  8. Love Kat Von D, love tattoos, but the colours look a bit too blue-based for me. I'm totally going to camp in Sephora when I go to NYC next year though.

I want US care packages! No fair!

  12. Love her too :)
Do you know if these are long-lasting lip colours? They are very pretty!

  13. Hey Bicky - I don't think she does any nude-y type shades, which is a shame because I know those are popular. It's good that the line does reflect her personal taste though.

Hi Arlene - well, lipstick wins, right? If I was single, possibly Mr Garver would have the edge ;)

Hey Claire - sounds v similar to my present shopping style ;)

Hi Michelle - don't you love the packaging? Really pretty.

Hello Jamilla - yet another reason to envy your fabulous lifestyle - regular access to a Sephora! ;)

  14. Hi Eliza - oh, I'll have to have a search of your blog for pictures; those eyeshadow palettes look gorgeous! I wish it was available here too - I could see it doing well at HQHair or Beauty Expert.

Hi Tali - it's the eyes, he has fabulous eyes. Now you mention the Bon Jovi thing...I can see it!

Hello Get_Lippie - I can imagine the damage you'll do in a Sephora!

Hey Computergirl - it really should come back.

Hi Rock That Look - they're not specifically marketed as long lasting, but the red and plum are well-pigmented; I'll report back after wearing for a day or two.

Mizzworthy - yes! V pretty! We need here!

  15. Hey Selina and Marce - only one, so far. A seahorse on my upper arm, when I was 22. My theory with tatts is you either have none, one, or loads, and I suspect if I got another one I might end up covered (after all, my given name *is* Lydia.)

Hi BeautyjunkieL - the packaging is lovely, I know what you mean.

  16. Nice! I didn't really pay much attention to her range in Sephora last time I was there.

  17. I can't decide which of the three colours I love most. They are all so gorgeous! We've got Sephora here, but I don't think I've seen Kat Von D's merchandise here. Pity......

  18. Hmmm...I can't say that her shades are doing it for me, but looking at those swatches I can't help but wonder how these feel on your lips..?
Creamy, pigmented and moisturizing as they appear? :)
Would love to try them on...!

    xxx
