A few of my favourite things - Julie Hewett

This is the Rosie Cheekie, Goldie Shimmy, and Soiree eye palette.

Soiree is a very useful basic palette - the shades are clay beige, chestnut brown, black and shimmery taupe.
Rosie gives me a pink/red natural rosy glow (the texture is along the same line as Bobbi Brown Rouge Pots; it melds into the skin very well without being too creamy.)
Goldie is a neutral beige shimmer, good for highlighting the eyes, cheekbones and collarbones.

I also love the red lipsticks in the Noir range, which I've pictured here. Olivia at The Land of Makeup Obscurity has great swatches of the Cheekies, Shimmies and Hue (cream eyeshadow/eyeliner) products on her blog. The website is www.Julie.Hewett.net and the products can be purchased in the UK from Makeup Artists Provisions in Shepherd's Bush, London - their telephone number is 020 8740 0808.

  2. One of my top three brands!!! I love the Petit Fours Palette, Natural & Bette Cheekies and the lipsticks. The Chubby Brush has completely revolutionised the way I put on cream blushes!!!

  3. Is the black shade in your Soiree palette matte? Mine is sparkly grey, almost black but not quite- and I remember when I bought mine that I could have sworn the original black shadow in the palette was matte black and not sparkly greyish/gunmetal black. They call it Black Chandelier, but I really thought it was a true black matte.

I love JH as well, my favs are the Camelia balms and the palettes are gorgeous!

  4. The Soiree Palette is beautiful, the colors remind me of portobello mushrooms! There is a code for 15% off NOV15 for her website. (Not affiliated in anyway)

  5. Hi Emma - it's lovely, especially for winter.

Hi Anon - I've not tried the brush, I really should. I have heard that it is really good.

HI Monica - yes, mine is matte. It's definitely different from the black shade in the Twilight palette, which is the same shade now, according to the website.

Hi Olivia - that's a great code. It does look like Portobellos! You have such a good eye for colour.

  6. I just opened my Rosie Cheekie. I love it! I saw a local makeup artist use that chestnut brown shade to contour a girl's eyes and it looked easy to use.

  7. Hi Mag - these eyeshadows are a dream. The Rosie cheekie is a lovely shade on olive/asian skintones especially - very flattering and clear.
