In MAC, I am about a 20 depth, but NC is too yellow and NW is too pink. I'd be an N something - probably N3 or N4, but MAC foundations have never agreed with my skin so I've not hunted down a proper match. I've referenced MAC here only because it tends to be the brand that most people are familiar with their foundation match in.
In Illamasqua I'm 135.
In Suqqu I'm 10. I've also had 15 applied at the counter, and although it looked okay in pictures I felt it was a little dark in real life.
In Bobbi Brown I have been matched to Porcelain and Warm Ivory. Porcelain is a bit Twilight-esque, so I prefer Warm Ivory.
In Chantecaille, I am Ivory.
In SKII Airtouch, I am OP3.

Thats a good idea to post the shades you use. I always wonder when I say I'm pale in reviews that people don't get quite how pale as its all a bit subjective.
ReplyDeleteYou look similar to my colour in pictures but going by the shades you buy I think you are probably 1/2 shades darker than me. x
Hi Replica
ReplyDeleteYes, I think you are a bit fairer than me; I'd say I'm pale but I'm not porcelain. Pictures can be difficult to judge, and I also think my skin looks paler because I have dark eyes, hair and eyebrows. x
I've found so far that MAC foundations are the best colour match for my skin. A lot of brands I find are too pinky. Only thing is I hate the MAC foundations' formulations. lol I like the concealer though so partially success. lol :) xxx
ReplyDeleteHi WinterBlossom
ReplyDeleteI found my skin had problems with MAC formulations too - I had very clogged pores from the studiofix powder and fluid foundations. I do quite like the thick, creamy concealer in the pot (studio-something?) If you have a chance, you might have a look at Illamasqua - their shade range is very good, and I found the formula of the cream foundation more agreeable.
Thank you for visiting my blog :)
I'm not sure if you get Makeup Forever over there (although it's from France so I would think so...?) but I love their Face&Body, water based foundation for my oily skin. My sister loves it too. They have a lot of yellow based colours which is great, because I find that mostly everyone has yellow undertones, whether fair or tanned. Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown do mostly yellow based foundations too I think. :)

Hi Mary - thanks for the helpful comment
ReplyDeleteOddly, it's hard to get hold of MUFE here - there used to be a shop, but it closed. It is available at Makeup Artists Provisions in Shepherd's Bush, London. I've heard some really good things about this brand, especially their foundations.
I'd agree that BB and Laura Mercier (especially) do some very good foundations. Armani also has some good yellow shades.
