Ellis Faas lipsticks - pictures applied on my lips

My Ellis Faas order arrived this morning; I ordered one of each texture in different colours. The tubes are a fantastic design, sleek and innovative, and work with the more liquidy texture of the lipstick extremely well. The products do seem to meld into the lips and don't feel sticky or waxy, and have no scent.

Creamy Lips 101 (Ellis Red)

Glazed Lips 307 (glossy coral)

Milky Lips 205 (nude peachy pink)
I'll need to update on the longevity and wear (I'm wearing 101 today - for me a lipstick line lives or dies by how well its reds perform) but so far I'm incredibly impressed. I'm looking forward to the face/eye colours being launched.

  1. Surprisingly l love 205, and I'm not normally a nude girl - also can we just talk about the packaging please? Its amazing!

  2. Hi Mizzworthy

I'm not usually a nude lipstick lover either, but this one is pretty, and not that dead-lips look I get with nudes. The packaging is amazing - I've not seen anything quite like it! Mr London did say "What on earth is THAT?" when I pulled one out of the package :D x

  3. They are pretty, thank you for the swatches - they all look really wearable. I'd never normally opt for anything coral, but I'm really liking the glossiness of that one.

  4. Hi Lipglossiping

They're all nice colours, and look good even with an otherwise bare face. I thought 307 would be more strawberry pink from the online swatch, but it is a nice colour and the textures are lovely. Thanks for visiting my blog. x

  6. Hi Mary

The packaging is great - very unusual and very classy. I was swatching and changing lip colour several times this morning - very hard to decide which one to wear! Thanks for your comment. x

The packaging is great - I don't know how easily you'd take it through Customs though! x

  13. Hello! I like the second one. Would you pay money for it? I need something to replace my Stila Fruit Punch lip glaze. Only have 2 tubs left!

  14. I'm always interested in trying a new red.

  15. Hello Rollergirl - well I did pay money for it, so yes :) I bought these - they were about 25 euros each from the website. I prefer these to the Stila because they aren't scented. x

Hello Wendy - 101 is a very good colour for a red - intense but not garish. x

  16. Thanks Grace, I did of course mean tubes, not 'tubs'. If I had tubs it clearly wouldn't be an issue!!

  17. Hi Rollergirl

If it had been tubs, you'd have been in good company here! I think 307 is quite a bit darker and more coral than Stila Fruit Punch - have you had a look at Ruby & Millie lipglosses? They have these in larger Boots, and they have a really good range of colours.

  22. I've done it! L307 is here and is gorgeous but far more coral than the pinkpink that is shown on the website. I'm off to the counter next week to get my skin veil and concealer sorted..So exciting. Thanks for the great blog, I came to you via thebeautylookbook but being British and with a good but not unlimited budget you're more my cuppa tea!

  23. Hi Munichjoolz - some of the swatches on the website are quite off - the lip colours I've tried are quite a bit warmer than they appear on the website to my eye. I'm glad you're able to do the concealer in person - do let me know what you think after your visit!

I love thebeautylookbook - Lina's comparison pictures are v helpful. Thanks for the nice comments on my blog. x

  24. What's most amazing about your post is the fact that we apparently have VERY similar ideas of what works with our skin coloring. After looking at your photos of 101 and 205, I did a double-take when I realized that my THIRD choice (of three choices total) was your second photo: 307. Thanks!!

  26. I need help with my new creamy lipstick. I just bought mine in London and through out the box with out reading it. I live in NY and I can't seem to make the lipstick flow out. I have been twisting it but nothing. Can someone let me know how it works and start it.
    Thanks,
    Scarlett

  27. Hi Scarlett

You have to twist it a few times the first time you use it to prime the applicator. These aren't immediately responsive, so I'd suggest giving it a full couple of rotations, then waiting 5 minutes, and repeat this until it starts dispensing. If you twist too much at once you can get a huge blob suddenly appearing!
