It's my phrase for the slightly scary ladies who work on the Bobbi Brown counters and follow the tao of Bobbi to the absolute letter.
I had a run-in with one a few years ago back when Dickens & Jones still existed. I wanted to buy a mid-toned shade for my eye crease to contour, but apparently;
"Bobbi does not believe in contouring, she believes in a base shade, a lid shade and a liner shade."
She kept repeating this, until eventually we agreed to pretend that I wanted said shade for a lid/liner colour, and would never use it to contour my crease.
I do like Bobbi Brown (honestly) because she makes makeup accessible to many to whom it was a frustrating mystery. I do remember when as well as contouring she didn't believe in shimmer on the cheeks or any bright colours though, and how times have been changing!
The concealer and corrector are very good for very dark circles, Bobbibot or not.

ReplyDeleteI think their training must be very strict with regard to following the Bobbi rules. An MA on Youtube, Gossmakeupartist, used to work for BB and he's done a video (do they still call them that, or is there a new word now we're all digital?) on his experiences there which is very interesting. I don't think he's a bitter ex-employee because he left to freelance, he doesn't come across that way and he still uses a lot of the products.
I love the gel liners too - Chocolate Shimmer Ink is gorgeous!

Hehe - enough to make me stay away I think! Although I have a shimmer block that says you can use it "anywhere". Maybe the Bots were having an off day.
